"Howling Wolves" was a side project of sorts between Beck and Chris Ballew, his guitar player at the time. The snippet played on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" was part of this project, and is affectionately referred to by Beck as "Bon Jovi In A Vacuum Cleaner."
